Delete my data
You can delete everything Shwe Sin Phyu holds about you. There are three ways. Use the first if you still have your phone.
1. Delete inside the app
- Open the app and tap the Me tab.
- Scroll down and tap Delete my profile and progress.
- Read the message and confirm.
While you are connected to the internet, the app erases your online copy first: your guest or account record, the email address you saved (if any), your display name and avatar, your progress, how well you know each item, and your answers. Then it erases the lessons data stored on your phone, and switches usage counts off on that phone. The online copy is removed right away and cannot be brought back. If you have no internet, nothing is deleted and the app says so; connect and try again.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your online backup. Use the button first.
2. Delete from this page (no phone needed)
This works if you saved your progress to an account with your email address. We send a 6-digit code to that email to prove it is you, then you can delete the account and everything saved under it.
You are signed in as .
Deleting will permanently erase this account and everything saved under it: your display name and avatar, your progress, how well you know each word and grammar point, your answers, and this email address. It cannot be undone. Lessons already on your phone stay there until you delete them in the app.
Done. Your account and everything saved under it have been deleted.
3. Delete by email
If you cannot use the first two ways, or you are a parent or guardian asking for your child, email support@shwesinphyu.com with the subject "Delete my data". Tell us the email address that the account was saved with. To protect you, we may reply to that address and ask you to confirm before we delete anything. We aim to answer within 30 days.
If you never saved an account (you used the app as a guest), your backup has no email attached, so we cannot tell which one is yours. Please use the button in the app on that phone.
What we cannot delete
- Information that is only on your phone is erased by the in-app button, or when you remove the app.
- Anonymous usage counts (13 and over only). They are not linked to your name, email, account or guest ID, so we cannot tell which ones are yours, and they contain nothing that identifies you. You can switch them off in Settings.
- Backups our provider keeps for disaster recovery are overwritten on the provider's normal schedule.
- Records we must keep by law, such as a record of a paid purchase. These sit with Apple or Google, not in the app.
